JayNice I am not Catholic.. Garry. I find that despicable too! I am Christian...there is a substantial difference. and I don't give the Church money...because I believe same as you on that note. I do random acts of kindness instead..including but not limited to money. also... want to share this...

twelve years ago, when my son was six months old (first child)...and i was post C-section... a young man crashed his motorcycle in our front yard. I ran outside, at 1 am, and proceeded to do CPR on him. He had no heartbeat or breathing. He had sod in his nose and mouth. I cleared it, breathed for him and did all that I could despite my c-section healing. long story short... for whatever reason, I was compelled inside of myself, to post this story on facebook with the young mans name. turns out...... he is the cousin of my childhood friend's husband... and today.... I was blessed two-fold.... his aunt found me on facebook and befriended me while telling me this.... "I am ____'s aunt. Myself and our family would like to thank you for what you did...and today... I will see him graduate college." wow. words cannot begin to explain how thrilled I am for him, for him living and graduating college...and then for his aunt to let me know. :-) He had two crushed vertebrae in his neck and a fractured skull.... amazing how God works and how all people are connected in some way. that night... I thought I was helping a stranger....today.... I realize he was NEVEr a stranger.159 days ago

susan196three My first responsibility is to God, and that determines how I interact in my physical world with everyone and everything else. I have found that the law truly is engraved 'on our hearts' . I just know that for me, if I am in need, I would rather call out to God, Jesus to be my comforter and sustainer and deliverer, than 'the cosmos, or the universe' to which I can have no personal relationship. People have developed this odd understanding that to fully submit, to hand your will over to God is somehow ... Not taking responsibility for own self and life, that it is somehow a cop-out. But if you understand the strength needed to actually put your own WILL aside and allow a very supernatural God to take over - this is an incredibly difficult and arduous undertaking. Imagine what the Israelites, led by Moses went through, with their feet in the water of the red sea, the rocky mountains on either side and the Egyptian army heading towards them ? And yet, a supernatural God delivered them.

Please understand, I am not trying to convince you to see anything my way, I am just trying to express how I see it, how I have been convinced that the path I have chosen is fully in keeping with 'The God of My Understanding' (as Mother Abigail said, in The Stand) ... I have chosen to 'walk with God', in every minute of the day, in every moment of my life. What greater companion could one have in this very confused and rapidly unravelling world :-)215 days ago
