Why am I here ?
Following our discussion, here is an excerpt I found from the book "the path of perfection" from Pr. B. Elahi:

about the meaning of life for us "people" is "ignorance" and everything {in, of, too} ignorance. Everything you do say speak write is ignorances based. You are not as educated as you "believe" you are.
We come back from a static states of infinite or meet up with an infinite being described in a God objective.
The entity of God is infinite, in an infinite state, in ignorance we have a hard time understanding.
Coming back into our pre-state of ignorance we find disgusting stuff around us, in us bla bla stuff really. There is confusion as there are no instructions, except others who tell the same story and the trials of tabulations accounts of paths taken.
Even love is hinder hampered by sheer ignorance, above and beyond the 5 senses is there without ignorance.
The key and keyhole is "ignorance" the common simple reduction of math leads to one word and that is ignorance.
Takes ignorance to know ignorance and see ignorance.
For ignorance is natural to nature it is the 0, zero factor. ignorance is the starting factor that is in everyone's life from birth till the day you drop dead.
Yes the infinite one of infinity speaks to me in riddles rhymes in self, self learning through other means. The ability to decipher a language that has no ignorance, the more you leave, surrender your states of ignorances the more you hear with your 5 senses and your intuition.
knowledge is induced literately from one side, it's your ability to decipher the many meaning and gooy webs of ignorances that entangle that releases knowledge within one's self. Realization is a key and key hole into this infinite source.
Ignorance is our nature reset button part of the blueprint it's naturally there by nature.
There is much homework within all of you that you must do yourself!!!!
For questions are the same for answers will be determined by your ignorance.
Ignorance is huge subject ongoing volume of volumes of information.

Thanks nightlife and joey for your comments.
I've added a link to a text I find interesting for our discussion about the meaning of life.

I know how you feel. I lost some good friends because when I tell them my story and how we need to love and help, they think I am out there.. But when you know what your purpose is on earth, your mission to love and give and help, it helps. I went last August to Phoenix, AZ, where there was an annual convention (3 days) for people that had an NDE. This was so incredible as I had never met in person people that had had (out of body/NDE) experiences. There were 200 people - The love and care we shared was absolutely amazing. It was liberating to meet people like me that had that same dimension of giving...I made wonderful friends and now we encourage each other. I cried on my way home, moved from having received so much love as I am the one usually giving heaven to others.
Have you tried to look in your area for a group called IANDS.org - they have groups all over the US with people who had experiences like us. All Peace, Yvonne

I can't tell you how nice it feels to not feel totally alone. Most people look at me pretty strange if I tell them what I think or what I've been through.
I agree with you Joey. We are here to help around us daily anytime we see a need - That is God's love - It is our true nature - I am there with you, it hurts sometimes because people are not there yet in their journey of understanding Love as they have not felt it , lived it and merged with God's love and light itself. Therefore, it is so good to be able to share on this community with people alike.
Suzan and Adissam, excellent analogies !
And the learning school we are in can be summed up by : The school of love, compassion. Learning to deepen love in an hostile environment, growing in its understanding....All Love, Yvonne

I know why I'm here. I'm here to help. Help people, enviroment, and the world. God puts so many people in my path that need help. I have been called to help however God see's fit. Sometimes I get hurt in the process, but after I can always see why God put me into that persons life. I will always help every one I can with out asking questions or passing judgement on the person or persons that need help and are in my path of life.
Thank you for sharing this analysis of that fairy tale.
What the about the analogy of the womb and the fetus ?
As the fetus needs a nutritive matrix to grow to become viable, we (our soul) needs to grow here to continue a viable life in the other world.
If we do not get enough nutrients or not fully develop then it would become difficult to strive in the other realm (the soul's realm) like a premature baby with fetal anomalies (or impaired functions making it difficult to understand this world or to fully enjoy it).

do you remember that old saying 'if you love something, let it go. if it returns to you, it is yours, and if it doesnt, it never was'. i believe that is the gift that God has given to us. Material form while severing our connection to 'heaven' and seeing if we can find our way back home again. it might not sound fair, but God doesnt see things the way we do as humans. There is a much bigger picture. I am also amazed by how much of God I read in fairy stories. for instance, the princess and the pea? she came into a castle looking like a stray but said she was a princess. to test her, they piled mattresses 100 high with a single pea at the very bottom. in the morning she woke up and complained about the lump in her mattress that caused her to toss and turn all night. It is a spiritual sensitivity. the world is like 100 mattresses, and the pea is the presence of God. Can we feel it? does it cause us discomfort, through all the layers of material manifestation. We are here to find our way back home. its not our actual experiences that matter as much as how we understand, reflect and respond to them that matters. In my (humble) opinion. :-)
I think the question "why" doesn't make sense. Since we are multidimensional, why wouldn't we be here. If we are experiencing all possibilities, then this experience is just one of those possibilities. In order to understand what you are, you must not think in linear, one-line terms for experience.
In my perception we cannot tell unless we can. That is, the least that is required is to attain a degree of certainty that is not less apparent to our inner self than reality is. How this could be achieved I am not sure, arguably through hard, pretty hard "thinking" until you reach the critical spiritual mass and your current ego collapses opening up visions beyond. However, heroic spirits could keep coming here just because it's their nature.
Actually, we could actually consider the soul as unidimensional since it we are really like a naive "angeloid",
some people say that we need to come on earth to develop our reason like a student who is sent to a school far away from home to study
